Voi’s Grants Program: Funding Your Ideas and Building Our Future Together
Dear Voi Community,
We are thrilled to announce the launch of Voi’s Grants Program and the process for submitting proposals for available grants. This program is designed to support our community members with building applications in the ecosystem and launching education, curriculum, and content in support of growing Voi’s user base. In this announcement we provide a high level overview of the grant opportunities available and the process for applying. This process may change as we receive feedback and have applicants go through the proposal submission process. Overview of Voi’s Grants Program
Our grants program is structured to support a wide range of projects that contribute to the growth and sustainability of the Voi ecosystem. Whether you are a developer, marketer, educator, or community builder, there is a grant for you. The available grants fall into several primary categories:
Development Grants
Product Design Grants
- Purpose: Validate idea and set up projects for successful development.
- Deliverable: Product Blueprint.
- Requirements: Research validation, team overview, motivation and goals, and a detailed work plan.
Build Grants
- Purpose: Develop and launch a complete product on Voi.
- Deliverable: Completed project milestones.
- Requirements: Detailed project plan, budget estimate, milestone map, and open-source compliance.
Retroactive Grants
- Purpose: Provide funding for already completed projects that align with Voi’s ecosystem objectives.
- Requirements: Project demo, user statistics, and future roadmap.
Ecosystem Services Grants
Marketing Grants
- Purpose: Support community growth, boost engagement, and promote Voi’s vision.
Education Grants
- Purpose: Develop educational content, curriculum, documentation, and other resources to support the Voi community.
Proposal Submission Process
Applying for a Voi grant involves several steps designed to ensure thorough evaluation and support for applicants. Here’s an outline of the process:
Step 1: Applicant Registration and Education
- Action: Create an account on Voi’s digital Grants Portal, once built. In the interim, educate yourself about the grants process by navigating to governance in Voi’s documentation.
- Resources: Read the detailed overview of all grants, objectives, eligibility criteria, guidelines for proposal creation, and submission schedules.
Step 2: Comprehensive Proposal Submission
- Action: Compile and submit a detailed proposal and pitch deck by the appropriate deadline.
Step 3: Pitch Proposal to Council
- Action: Select a date to pitch your proposal at a future council meeting and present using the standard template provided in the documentation.
Step 4: Proposal Review
- Action: The Voi Council will conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the application and pitch presentation.
- Outcome: The Council will either approve or reject the proposal. Proposals that pass Council review must receive final approval by the Treasury prior to funds disbursement.
Step 5: Notification and Feedback
- Action: Applicants are informed of the governance decision, with detailed feedback provided for improvement and potential future submission.
Step 6: Project Initiation and Milestone Management
- Action: Begin project work upon approval, with proactive submission of documentation around milestones for payouts.
Step 7: Project Completion and Ongoing Operations
- Action: Complete the project, present outcomes to the community and council, and continue managing the project for long-term sustainability.
